MARBLEHEAD, Mass. (August 30, 2019) – HGTV meets Marblehead in Room Tonic, the home décor, housewares and objets d’art store that opens this Labor Day weekend in Marblehead, Massachusetts, located at 22B Atlantic Avenue.  The retail store will feature home furnishings, decor, mirrors, lighting, accessories curated by HGTV designer Susan Bott.  Bott, owner, curator and designer, transplanted her design business from Manhattan to Boston’s North Shore. Her interior designs have been featured on HGTV, Food Network and in The New York Times.

A Marblehead resident, Bott believes that home design should be an expression of individuality.  “You don’t have to be a billionaire to have custom, curated interior design, your space should reflect who you are not who your designer is,” Bott said.

Bott strives for balance in design as well as more than a little fun. Room Tonic offers clients something at every price point – from cute, little Chinoiserie (pronounced “shin-waz-er-ee”), embroidered linen cocktail napkins to rare antiques, porcelain and furniture. Some of the products for sale even give back to causes close to Bott’s heart, Special Olympics and clean water.  “I want everyone to find something they love,” Bott said.

The curated, bespoke experience extends to Room Tonic’s antiques. The antiques are appraised by Gloucester’s Peter Combs, well known Asian art dealer and broker, and exclusive appraiser for Asian antiques at eBay and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

There is a definite nod toward Asian antiques and accessories offered at Room Tonic. “You will find a lot of my personal favorites - classic Chinese Chippendale, Chinoiserie, faux bamboo, Blue Willow and Rose Medallion pieces,” Bott eagerly explains. “People have asked me if it’s all Asian things and my answer is it’s actually classic New England. That classic seaport style a Marblehead ship captain would have in their home to show their importance and embrace their world travels, but with a modern twist.

Elemental Space Clearing

Space Clearing is a practice enthusiastically accepted by celebrities from Issac Mizrahi to Uma Thurman and by corporate clients as well.  Bott, a certified Elemental Space Clearing practitioner, also offers custom clearings to positively shift your home's energy.

“I want your home to feel as good as it looks. You know how different a room feels after you’ve vacuumed?  Now multiply that by 10. Working with the energy in a space can make all the difference.”

Room Tonic will also carry Palo Santo, White Sage and crystal products in beautifully lacquered boxes in order for clients to practice clearings on their own spaces, whether it be for a new home, after a divorce, when you want harmony with family or to invite love or good people into your life.

“Change the energy, change your home,” Bott said. “I’m excited to help guide people into thinking about the importance of their home’s energy and the feelings that energy produce.”

Room Tonic is located at 22B Atlantic Avenue, Marblehead, MA 01945, next to Terry’s Ice Cream. Parking is conveniently provided in the back, and local deliveries are available. Hours of operation through September are 11:30am - 7pm.  For more information, visit our website at: Room Tonic or phone (781) 631-5555.
