Antique Chinese 18th/19th Century (Circa 1800) Blue & White 10" Canton Export Porcelain Plate - Perfect Condition
This Canton dinner plate has been appraised by Peter L. Combs of Gloucester, MA. Peter is a world-renowned appraiser, auctioneer and dealer of Asian antiques and fine art. This antique Chinese porcelain plate is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines.
It is hand-painted with underglaze blue and decorated with pagoda, boats, bridge and mountains. The inner rim border is called "rain and cloud"
Porcelain of this type, and sometimes even more simplified is called "Canton" because it was named for the Chinese city from where it was exported.
